12 Days of Creepmas - Day 5

Day 5 and I decided to play with my gorgeous Kraftin' Kimmie stamp- I love her pretty face, so like Angelica from Rugrats and her WEIRD dollies- very Coraline!

I used mostly October Afternoon paper and die cute by Spellbinders.
The stamp is Kraftin' Kimmie coloured with Copic Ciao markers.

Look at that face so cute but those dolls LOL what lurks beneath ?!

Happy May Blog Hop Day!!

Hello Again Bombshell Lovers!!
Can you believe it's the end of May already??
Here in England we've had a mixed bag of weather, in fact we have a saying about the weather  in May:

Ne'er cast a clout till May be out!

...which essentially means keep your coat nearby until the end of May as the weather can change so quickly and we've certainly had strange weather this month. The month started off with drought warnings THEN we had two weeks of heavy rains and this week we are all roasting! I know that 27 degrees probably seems lame to many of you  but it's HOT HOT HOT for us Limeys!!

We have a lot of traditions in England associated with May and lots of festivals as it signals the start of the better weather, people are out and about more and want to party. With this in Mind Alison our Blog Hop Captain has chosen May Celebrations as our theme:

Bombshell October Blog Hop!!!

And a BRILLIANT challenge from Alison for my FAVOURITE time of the year:

It's October! It's October! My very most favorite month of the year! Can you tell I'm excited??? So...what's this month's Bombshell Hump Day Hop Theme, this month's theme is...Halloween of course!  But...it's with a twist. You must include skelletons or a skull in/on it somewhere. You can use any of the numerous Bombshell Stamps skelletons, or you can create your own. Just make sure you get your Bombshell Stamps in there somehwere! You may also create a Day of the Dead project for this hop. But I couldn't fit it all in the title! Like last month, I encourage you to make a decoration as opposed to a card, but this is not mandatory. 

Isn't that a cool challenge?
Well now here's my canvas featuring Rose's Portrait but glammed up for Halloween!

June's Bombshell Blog Hop!!!

Shiver Me' Timbers

Alison has chosen a cool Blog Hop theme to celebrate the summer, Shiver Me' Timbers!!! Here's what Alison says:
 "Arrrrrrrrr!!!! In honor of the latest Pirates of the Carribean flick, and the start of Summer (cruises and such...work with me here, folks) I decided what better theme than pirates! More like the phrase "Shiver me timbers!" Now, I am thinking pirates...but what do YOU think of when you hear that phrase?"


Here is my take on Alison's theme! I paper-pieced the galleon from the Homeward Bound Bombshell stamp set with the lush Cosmo Cricket 'Wanted' papers.
I used the compass and serpent stamps in the background (Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap)
I used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink to colour the ribbon.

Stitching Time again!

Last year I stamped my Bombshell Mermaid stamp onto fabric and coloured her in with Copic markers. I made a quilted surround from sea themed fabrics:

Well this time I wanted to use the same stamp but EMBROIDER the mermaid stamp this time!

I also wanted to include some fabric for the mermaid's tail and bikini top so I bonded some Bondaweb (to prevent fraying) onto the back of my chosen fabric and stamped the Mermaid's tail and top onto this fabric:

I then carefully cut it out the tail and bikini top from the fabric.

I stamped my Mermaid onto a piece of cream fabric using Staz-On ink and put the fabric into an embroidery hoop.

I took the fabric tail and bikini top I had cut out and used some clear glue to place it onto the mermaid:

I then used a combination of back stitch and satin stitch to outline and fill in the mermaid's image.

I also outlined the fabric tail and bikini top with back stitch.

Once the embroidery was complete I finished the mermaid by attaching her to a collaged and stitched fabric background to make a hanging!

I rubbed a little Rock Candy Stickles over the fabric tail and top to give the mermaid some sparkle!

My Inner Bombshell and Multi Masking Tutorial

Mary G has challenged the Bombshell team to come up with a Bombshell project that reveals their inner Bombshell!

As a Gemini I find I have two distinct sides to my personality and my crafting! Sometimes I'm neater and nicer and like to go with pretty, glittery and happy. Other times I'm inky, grungey, showing a dark sense of humour and loving skulls and tattoos!

So my Bombshell project is kinda my Gemini self!

I layered multiple Bombshell images by using masking. 

First I stamped the Bombshell Bride onto my card with Memento ink.

I stamped her again onto some scrap paper and cut her out to make a mask. A little repositionable Hermafix on the back of the mask and placed it over my stamped image:

Next I lined up where I wanted my second stamped image and stamped her over the mask:

Then I had my two main Bombshells 'Lucky Bride and Butterfly Queen' next to each other:

I stamped Butterfly Queen onto scrap paper and cut her out so I could make a mask for my second stamped image, I could then start stamping over the two Bombshells without making a mess of them. Here are both Bombshells, masked with some of the next layer of stamping going on:

As I progressed I added more masks so that I could over stamp more of the card:

Not all the masks were stamped on scrap and cut out- for smaller images, sometimes all I needed to use were strips of paper to protect an image below:

Once all the stamping was done and the masking removed the card looked like:

The final job was to colour the images in and add some extra images with 3d foam to make the pop off the card

I really enjoy this technique as you get a really dense layered look but you can still focus on the main subjects of the card. It's quite involved but i find it quite relaxing and my 'DH' commented on how quiet the colouring in kept me!!

and if you leave the images uncoloured apart from sweeping with Distress inks it forms a cool background:

Quick Copics Tut...

...here's how I do them!

Bombshell mermaid image stamped with Black Memento ink as it doesn't smudge or run with Copics.
Skin colour- I start with an all over colouring of E00

Now imagining the light is coming from the right of the image (as you looks at it!) I place my shadows on the left and around any 'edges' say of clothing and hair etc.
So add E21in a thin band on the left of the image.



Now take E00 again and go over the colouring in small circles to blend the 2 colours together.

NEXT:
Take E02 and add colour in thinner bangs on the left of your image:

Finally for the skin I use my darkest shadow E11 in the smallest amount in the far left side of the image:

Here's a rough map of what I am doing:

Then once again I blend ALL over the skin with the E00 so the colours meld together!

I then use E21 for the darkest shadows which go FAR left:

 and then blend with small circular motions of E00 again:

I like to use a little R20 on the cheeks for blush and blend in again with E00 and I add a little eyeshadow something pale like BV02.

We all have our own home remedies...a pinch of this, with a dash of that and gargle. *giggle Well, it's time to put your thinkin' caps on, and ALTER an item you have laying around. That's right...don't be content with that over the counter crafting stuff...take something you have and give it a little bit of TLC; a pinch of this glitter and a splash of that alcohol ink. (Hopefully you won't have to gargle....*wink) Let your imaginations run wild as you use your Bombshells to breathe new life into an otherwise boring item.

Now Here's a 7Gypsies bottle I have owned FOREVER (LOVE 7g's goodies!) so rather than it gathering dust on my shelf I dug it out and BOMBSHELLED it!!!

I used Sugar Skull Bombshells and my Copics: E31, E33, E35, E15 and Walnut Distress Ink

Played at colourin' in yesterday!!

Had a lovely , lovely day yesterday in Flit(w)ick!!!
Made my Chrissy ATC's withe the cool digi sheets from ITKUPILLI's shop.
Made a crad for a lil' pal who was SEVEN yesterday from my Bronte and Bella piccie (love these 2 so much!!)AND did some colouring in of a new Mo Manning illustration 'Out There' in aid of Meningitis Search 4 a Vaccine Campaign.
Colouring in a is SO relaxing!!
So thanks to Mel, Glad, my mate archie and all the girls- I had a brilliant and RELAXING time!!

This week the Bombshell girls challenge is

Who's Got The Button?

They hold up our pants, keep our shirts closed, and yes, they even add a little extra something to our cards. This week's challenge is to use buttons: shell buttons, faux buttons, sparkly buttons, panic buttons...any type of button you please. The more buttons the merrier in fact, just make sure you use a button

I love those button embellishments by Jenni Bowlin and really wanted to have a go at making my own Bombshell version!



I used 2 quickutz button dies one large and 2 small:




I cut buttons from light chipboard and from Making Memories Ledger paper and stuck the ledger paper over the chipboard to make the buttons.

I then stamped my Bombshells onto my buttons.

For a vintage look I coloured the stamped images with Sepia shades of Copic pens: E00,E31,E33,E35

...and then you have your own Bombshell button embellishments! I'm going to use mine for layouts and cards and make the larger button into a lapel badge!

When I was colouring in my Pirate Parrot Bombshell the other week I remembered those spinners where you have an empty cage on one side and a parrot on the other. When you spin the spinner the parrot magically appears in the cage!!
So for world card Day here's my version of a Spinner card or 'Put the Parrot in the Cage'!!

Faeries!!!

So I've been practising more with my Copics on these gorgeous images by Mo Manning Digital Pencil Too

Tabia is a beautiful little fairy blowing bubbles.
Copics Used:

Someone asked me about the glittered wings here's what I did:
When I did Fabia's wings- I coloured them in the lightest blue (B00) all over.
I then went over the veins and outer edge very carefully with the B02.
I went in with the blender pen and removed ink within each section of the wing (roughly following the shape) this made the wing appear more transluscent.
I glittered her wings with Crystal Stickles which I applied and spread with my finger tip to make a thin layer.


This is Fairy 3 who is having a whale of time swooshing through the air- she looks likes she up to some mischief!

Bombshell's 'Hump Day' Blog Hop!!!

READY to Blog Hop??!!!

So as you know my lovely new 'A Pirate Life' Bombshells arrived last week.
Since my EZ-Mount arrived and I didn't get TOO much hair stuck on it, it was time to stamps and colour!
I have to say that learning to use Copics does fill me with trepidation, there are so many FABULOUSLY talented wenches out there who do such an amazing job with the pens! However once I start- I find 'colouring in' Soooooo relaxing!!

Here's my efforts on Miss Feisty Pirate girl- I went for 2 different looks.
I was feeling much more confident by the time I coloured Pirate girl in green, Pirate girl in BLUE was my first attempt and I think it shows!!



I'm slowly getting to grips with the different colour combinations (again thanks to all the online information from so many lovely Bloggers out there!) and learning as I go!

Here's the Parrot- I think I'll have fun with colouring him again!
