I am crafting but have got out of the habit of blogging what I make!
as Halloween is just around the corner I decided to finally buy myself the Tim Holtz Gothic Boo dies and have a play!

So I used the following Sizzix Alterations: Gothic Boo, Crescent Moon and Stars, Tattered Pinecone, Cabinet Card, Sizzlets Decorative Strip Die- Cobweb, Sizzix Movers and Shapers - Mini Cat and Raven. I also used Black Soot and Antique Linen Distress Glitter, Tim Holtz Idea-ology - Mini Stash Regions Beyond, Distress Ink and the very cool Jolees spider stickers!

Bombshell HALLOWEEN Blog Hop!!!!

Hello!!
October is one of my fave months as it is the start of autumn, we have a half term for the schools here in England And it's HALLOWEEN!!!
Alison has come up with a cool challenge for us to HOP with:
It's a Halloween challenge but this isn't JUST Halloween, it has a twist. For this Hump Day Hop, I want you to create a "Black and White" Halloween project. "Black & White Halloween" can be very elegant or very creepy. If you wish, you can use one additional color, other than skin or hair tones. ~Alison.

I have stuck to Alison's monochrome scheme (mostly!) with just a little orange added!

The Bombshells have a new home and have moved in just in time for Halloween...

and dancing in the garden of their new house....

...the Skull Family who are delighted with their new pad and are holding a party to celebrate!

 I've created a lamp by joining 4 Rickety House die cuts together-they sit over a square base that holds a tea light (battery operated!)

 I've used the following Tim Holtz Alterations dies to create the house and garden:

Branch Tree die , On the Edge Fence Die , On the Edge Graveyard and Mini Bat and Skull Movers & Shapers

 The Skully Brothers are Bombshell Stamp set Calaveras Fiesta stamped on shrink plastic and shrunk down!

I used decorative moss stuck down with my good old glue gun to create the garden!

Bombshell's February's Challenge!

This month we have a little change to the schedule.
Sadly Freddie couldn't join us this month so the you're stuck with me GlitteryKatie !
It's been really fun stepping in to set our February Challenge and as it's February, the month of St. Valentine and as we all love Bombshells I figured lets have a Bombshell LURVE theme!

"What goes through your mind when you think of love, maybe cherubs, chocolates music and whispering sweet nothings to your honey bun or perhaps something a little darker....broken hearts, tears and thoughts of sweet, sweet revenge

So here's my Valentine challenge to you this month, I want to see what's in your hearts the good AND the bad.
If you like sweet nothings- great but lets see a little bit of your dark side too!!!
If you like the dark side of love then sweeten it a little !
So go where your imagination takes you and lets see the YING and YANG of lurve!"

So here's my project:

This was one of those projects that evolved as it went along!
In my mind it was going to be 2 separate cards- one sweet and one dark!
I'm into stamping on lined paper at the moment - it's my thing I'm working with!

I stamped 'til death first and cut it out with Nestabilities Label 22, coloured it in and restamped the lower banner so I could pop it off the image with some foam squares.
I inked around the edges of the coloured image with Walnut Distress Ink and then added the image to Tim Holtz's Alterations Cabinet Card which I cut in thin card covered with 7gypsies paper:
I added the small heart from the Cupid Movers and Shapers dies, and covered it in red glitter.

I cut 2 more of the Cabinet Cards but places the Mini Cupid Mover and Shaper die in the centre.
I then covered the back of each cabinet card with text paper.
On the front of the cabinet panels I painted them with gold acrylic paint and some texture paste.
I aged the panels with some black and brown inks and covered the edges with Tissue Tape.
I then filled in the Cupid cut outs with Fired Brick Distress Stickles . I speeded up the drying time with my heat gun (mind your fingers!)

As you can see from above I used some grunge paper hinges to attach the three panels together with decorative brads and glue. I coloured the hinges by rubbing in some gold wax.
Where the brads poked through to the front of panels I covered them with a pieces of 7gypsies paper cut with the Cabinet Card die.

For the side panels I used the smaller Nestabilities Label 22 die and cut a piece of lined paper.
I left the Nestabilities die on the paper like a frame whilst I stamped the 'Butterfly Queen' and the skull and rose from 'Man's Ruin'  I then embossed the Label 22 to create the edging which I inked with distress Ink.

I cut the cupid with the Tim Holtz die and glittered him with Silver Glass glitter for a vintage look.
I added the Red glittered heart- pierced with a Memo Pin hung with a Muse Token .
I stamped a blank banner from the Banner Sayings stamp set and over stamped it with the word 'Heartbreaker' from the Man's Ruin stamp set.

The final panel was similar to the left one

 

..the little wings on the heart are from the Dead Necessities set and the banner from the Man's Ruin set.
So that's my project- it turned out to be more construction than I'd originally planned but I do like a Triptych!

Smeared and Smudged 12 Days of Christmas Challenge-The END!!!

Here we are at Day 12 and I've decided to finish with another Christmas card.
I've tried to keep it simple but as usual added just one more leaf...then a few holly berries!!!

Hello My Lovlies! I am the Guest Designer and challenge hostess for the month of June! I've got a special challenge lined up for this month and I hope everyone decides to play along. I have decided to alter a box this month, a Memory Box.

We all at some point in time have received little notes from the kids or hubby or favorite neice/nephew that we couldn't bear to part with. Or that little drawing that came home from school, the first art project that you still don't really know what it is but you love it all the same...that special something from someone important to you. I have so many of those things from my kids that I want to display and i am running out of room to do so, sooooooo I decided to make a box for them. Well several boxes actually. This is the one I started with....my children love Bombshell stamps, they are 15 and 11....anyway they each got to choose which set represented them the most(in their opinions) and I went from there. I have added paint, decorative paper, pictures, I even used the first quitar string we had to replace on my daughters guitar and the beads my son painted for me from his favorite book series last month!!!

And thirdly don't forget Kathi's June Sketch challenge.

As you can see I've 'double dipped by using Kathi's sketch for my BOY TOY card!!

Grunge!

I love the grungy, inky style of crafting. I find this style is great for scrapping teenagers and it lends itself to the Goth/Emo look really well!

Here I was scrapping black and white photos of one of my nieces (who was trying to avoid me taking photos Mwahahaha!). I upped the contrast of the photos to give a more arty look and I rubbed the edges of them with a sanding block for a distressed look. I continued the distressed look by roughing up the edges of the photo mats.

I kept with a black and white palate for the layout to give it a smart, funky look.

The papers are a mix of Theresa Collins, 7gypsies and October Afternoon.I ripped the papers and crumpled them, then over laid them and stitched them onto the base paper with my sewing machine.


I pleated a 1.5" strip of paper and stitched this along one edge for texture.

I used lots of different types of embellishments: I used several Tim Holtz journal tickets which I stamped on and inked with Distress Inks. I used Stampotique stamps and Stamper's Anonymous.

I used some stickers but added some dimension by sticking a Tim Holtz Fragment over the top.

I used the new Sizzix Alterations dies to cut some tags which I painted and then journalled on- I also cut some large flowers from Grungepaper and sheet music paper which I inked and added a decorative brad for the centre. I used the wonderful flying heart die- I cut the pieces from chipboard which I covered in some patterned paper. The top of the heart I covered with black embossing powder for a really deep, shiny black finish.

So that's my layout- I hope my Niece likes it although she might kill me for taking the photos!!
