Cherry Bomb!

I can't believe it's nearly the end of November! This month on the Bombshell Blog we are showcasing the CherryBomb Stamp set. Now this is a new set to me so I thought I'd see what I could do with Big Old Mr Devil and some Kraft cardstock and white embossing powder-I may have mentioned I'm having a bit of a Kraft Cardstock 'thang' at the moment!

Supplies:
Cherry Bomb Bombshell Stamp Set
My Mind's Eye Halloween Paper
Shapeabilities Ribbon Banners
Shapeabilities Foliage
Nestabilities Postage Stamps
Distress Ink
White Embossing Powder

I used my Bombshell Pin I created back in July as an embellishment as it had those cute cherries on it!

I hope you're recovering from all the Turkey and that your festive arrangements are going well- don't forget some time for crafting- the best therapy there is!
Happy Crafting!

Confessions!

Hi GlitteryKatie here!
I loved Cassie's Confessions Challenge this week- have you played along yet?
My true confession is a secret dream I have....you known those glorious black and white movies with Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers where they are walking down the street and suddenly the music starts and a HUGE song and dance numbers begins...I want to do that!!
And the best bit of the movie is the spectacular musical finale where the heroine gets to strut herself in a gorgeous frock and sweep the audience and hero our their feet!!

So with this in mind I created a stage for my ultra glamorous Bombshell Butterfly Queen to appear and of course she's dressed in her beautiful gown with LOTS of feathers!

I experimented a little by stamping onto Bazzil Kraft cardstock- I liked the effect although it absorbs copic ink more than Neena cardstock, given a second or two the colours came through in subtle shades!
The background is an embossing folder by Darice embossing a piece of Kraft cardstock and wiped over with a pale pink inkpad to highlight the design!
I've used the new Tim Holtz Rock Candy dry glitter liberally for Hollywood glitz and glamour!

Supplies:
Bombshell Butterfly Queen Stamp
7gypsies Printery Paper
Darice Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two
Copic Ciao Markers
VersaMagic ink pads
Hero Arts alphabet stamps
Ranger Rock Candy glitter

I hope you enjoyed the challenge, remember to play along and leave a comment on the blog for a chance to win your own Bombshell stamp set!

Happy Crafting!

Skull Love!

November 1st and 2nd was Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead, a Mexican celebration in which families gather to commemorate their loved ones who have passed on.
There are many traditions associated with the Day of the Dead Festival including the creation of sweets from pressed sugar in the shape of a skull, which is decorated with icing flowers. These sugar skulls and Catrinas, carved figurines with a skull head are used as grave decorations or offrendas and during the widely held feasts!
Here at Bombshell Stamps we have several beautiful sets of stamps that are inspired by the Day of the Dead festival see them all HERE!

I created a mini shrine in honour of my relatives- combining beauty with the macabre!
