Dolly's New Home!

So I finished the Dolly for my lovely friend Archie and handed her over to her new owner at our Derbyshire craft weekend and I think she was very comfortable as she started being very naughty!
First she started looking through the bags....

...then she found a good book to settle down with...

...she admired the view...

...cleaned her teeth with my TOOTHBRUSH??!! No Dolly, NO!!

**sighs**

I used Isabelle Kessedjian's My Crochet Doll from Amazon which has LOTS of clothes patterns for the basic doll, all of which are lovely!  Dilly Dolly is dressed for Autumn weather here in Englad with a warm sweater, scarf and yellow wellies!

Hooky fun!

One thing I've continued recently is my crochet!
All my blankets have been put away for now as we are planning on moving soon but small projects are easy to have on the go!

I have a lovely dolly on the go for my Friend Archie!

she needs her head attaching to her body but she has a mass of red hair now! Looking forward to getting to work on her clothes next!

I made a little Tinkerbell for my Great Niece !

Recently I have made two Baby Groots from Twinkie Chan's lovely pattern. Have you seen Guardians of the Galaxy, brilliant fun film and Baby Groot is adorable!

Nearly forgot I knitted a couple of baby jackets and crocheted a couple of hats and a blanket for a Friend's Grandson back at the beginning of the year! Hadn't knitted a baby jacket since I was expecting my eldest son back in 1996!

I nearly forgot this little chap I made for my Sister's birthday. We both love the Ann McCaffrey Dragon book so this is a little gold dragon for her!

Crochet Stash!

I've long admired the hookings of the wonderful Anita Mundt so I was delighted when she announced she was doing a yarn kit as i LOVE her colour choices!
Well my yummy yarn has arrived

and the photo doesn't really do the colours justice, I haven't included the white yarn!

So I trotted off to Lucy's blog Attic24 to get the 'how to' for a hex blankie and I've made a start- just a small start!

Beautiful Yarn Kit!!

Vey excited that my friend Anita Mundt has decided to bring out a yummy yarn kit! Anita has SUCH an eye for colour it's amazing see her Pinterest Board to see her wonderful crochet and stitchery HERE.
I was so happy when she said she was going to get a kit together!
LOOKEE!!

Anita has inspired me to make a hex blanket for the bed with THIS...

...isn't it fabulous?!

So that's what I will be doing for my next BIG project.

MORE Crochet!!!

Here's an update of crochet projects I have completed in the last week....

...flowers for my friend's gloves in an acrylic yarn (top) and in a cotton yarn (bottom right) these little flowers crocheted up beautifully in both yarns and were from a pattern I found HERE.

I completed my largest project to date a stash bag designed by the talented Lucy at Attic24 I just wish I had her way with colour but despite my self criticism I'm really pleased with the bag and my yarns sit in there lovely and snug!!

I have to say I am in LOVE with the Double Crochet stitch (that's US stylee!) it just FLOWS along wonderfully from the 'ook!!

Right off to my bed now!!!

Crochet Time

It was my turn to post over on It's a Creative World this weekend:
Hi all!
You may remember my post earlier in the month about Quick Knits well I've continued to knit and have even taught myself to crochet to a pattern!

First of all here's my little Gnome I was just starting last time. He knitted up really fast and came out a treat (my Sister is after him!). He was from a free pattern HERE and the only changes I made were to add some stitches tom make a nose and ears and I knitted the beard in garter stitch.

I love tortoises and knitted this teeny Torty:

I then bought a lovely pattern online for a cute piggy who was knitted- love those hooge feet!!
If you search etsy.com there are hundreds of beautiful and varied patterns for you to knit and often less than $5

I then decided that it was about time I taught myself to crochet and follow a pattern as there were so MANY adorable amigurumi patterns free on the net!

I thought I'd look for a REALLY easy pattern and spotted this cute Happy Pill pattern on Ravelry.com
(you need to sign up to use the site but you don't get any annoying emails and it's a HUGE resource!)

I had looked at instructions on how to crachet but it hadn't clicked but luckily I found this awesome tutorial on YouTube AMIGURUMI TUTORIAL and I was off!

I learnt how to decipher a crochet pattern, to increase and decrease in single crochet *beams*

So my next project was to crochet a cookie which I made up myself (get me!), followed by a cupcake from free pattern HERE and a coffee cup from HERE

I've learnt to use Slip Stitch, crochet into the front or the back of the stitch and to use HDC- half, double crochet!

Anytime I've been stuck I've resorted to Googling for the answer or heading to YouTube for a video tutorial- so easy!

As well as crocheting I've discovered 6mm black safety eyes which really give the look of an amigurumi!
