Bombshells August Hump Day HOP!!!

Alison Mistress of the Blog Hop has come up with a rip roaring way to see out the Summer with a big Ol' Western Style send off!

"Hello Bombshell Fans! It's time to announce the August Hump Day Hop theme. This month, the theme is "Cowboys and Indians." Bombshell Stamps has plenty of fantastic images to go with this theme in rubber AND digi form! So what kind of fun Western styled project can you come up with? "

Now I love anything vintage and Cowboys and Indians says Old Movies to me so that's the theme of my three ATCs I created

First Calamity Kate.....

...which could describe me this week as I'm covered in bruises!!

Next is Texas Burt...

...the gentle and kindly cowboy doing good always raises his hat to the ladies!

Finally the noble Indian Leader...

...protecting his People and defending his traditions.

I used various papers collaged onto the ATCs, inked with striped cord added.
I used Western Gal , Indian Princess, Bucking Bronco Bombshell Stamp sets coloured with Spectrum Noir pens TN1, TN2, TN3, TN4, TN5, TN7

Now go hop and see what the wonderful Alaine has created and remember to leave a comment for a chance to win a Bombshell Stamp set of your choice!

'Two For' Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Two-For Tuesday Blog Hop! The Bombshell Girls and Pin-ups are thrilled to join forces with Altered Pages Artsociates to hold a huge blog hop that showcases Bombshell Stamps together with digital backgrounds from Altered Pages

I chose a fabulous 'Collaged Background Green'

I used the jade green sheet to create a frame on cardstock which I inked the edges of then covered in Glossy Accents Crackle glaze which enhanced the jade green colour beautifully.

I added an extra small frame of the Jade green paper to the crackle finish frame and used a piece of the fresh green paper as the background for my frame.

I coloured in my Indian Princess with Spectrum Noir pens and Copics E31, 33 and 35 for the skin and added the dream catcher at the top of the frame and a collection of labels and a metal Idea-Ology embellishment in the bottom right of the frame.

Here's the Blog Hop List please hop along and enjoy the combination of Bombshells and Altered Pages Artsociates

It's the 4th Monday of August which means it's my turn to play with this month's featured Bombshell stamp set Growing Heart.

I coloured Growing Heart in with Spectrum Noir pens having stamped and clear embossed the image onto some beige coloured cardstock. I then created a collaged background using various My Minds Eye papers, edges inked with Distress Inks.

Now pop along to the Bombshell Blog to see the projects created by the rest of the DT!

Catch up!

Been a busy time here at the Old Oak Tree!
The Boy with the hair had been unwell for a couple of weeks and was dramatically diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic with a hospital dash and an overnight stay!

I'm happy to report we're into week 6 and he's doing stunningly, managing all his testing and injections himself! Very proud Mamma here!
Strangely diabetes is related to Coeliac disease which is a gluten intolerance which his little sister was diagnosed with in April!

We weren't done with hospitals as 'DH' had been rushed into hosp in May in the most terrible pain and was diagnosed with gallstones. So it was his turn to have an overnight stay at the hospital and have his gallbladder out- he did get to wear a natty pair of stockings though!

He's recovered really well and feels so much better now the evil 'Bladd the Inflamer' as it became known was taken out...we imagine he's in a jar jar spitting bile at anyone who walks past!
Apart from 4 little scars you'd never know 'DH' had been under the knife- amazing!

Our Beagles are are as bonkers as ever, although sweetie Rowdy had a fit last night- he has epilepsy but thankfully he has infrequent fits but last nights was a bit longer than usual and he took a while to find his feet. He is such a little pud and it's awful to see him distressed- luckily the presence of our other two Beagles seemed to help a lot!
Bertie had a stay at the vets last month but he's bounced back and is impressively fit and active for a fourteen year old!
Willow had a brief period of defiance, not coming back at the park which was cured by attaching her and Bertie together on a long lead- worked really well until they got themselves wrapped around a tree once, but it's done the trick and Miss Willow is coming back when asked now!

As you can see the Beagues had a lovely time when we went on hols last week!
It was our first time in the Gower Peninnsular in Wales and it was fabulous!

This is the cottage viewed from the 300ft hill on the opposite side of the valley!

...this is when we became a family of Monopoly and Scrabble addicts!!

..beautiful views across the estuary...

...and stunning beaches...
