Scrappy time...

Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to spend the WHOLE weekend with a group of mad women, similarly obsessed with patterned paper and all with a love of gluing and inking!! We had a blast though goodness knows what 'normal' peeps thought of us when we ALL trogged in with AMM totes stuffed with a miriad of crafting stash and tools!
Well I had a productive weekend as well as a hilarious, loud and BONKERS one!!!

RIP Randy Pausch

Today I saw on obituary for Randy Pausch and I was intruiged by the headline 'The Last Lecture' so off I went to YouTube where I was entranced by this lively, warm, funny man, Randy Pausch talking about achieving your childhood dreams. As I watched I was joined by my son and 'DH' who were also drawn in by the lecture. An hour later I was inspired and thankful to have shared time with this wonderful man. I hope you can spend on hour watching the lecture and enjoy it as much as I did!

I found this oh so cute photie of 'The Boy with the Hair' taken when he was just TWO! Look at his chubby knees, snotty nose and dimples- soooo sweet!!! He's even MORE cheeky now!!

Charming!

Been making some charms for a swap this weekend- had fun with Shrink plastic, Primas, Buttons and Stampboard!

'Little Miss Acorn' pointed out that the button charms somewhat resembled Makka Pakka from 'In the Night Garden' (a scary childrens' programme on Cbeebies!!) I see what she means!!

Been Playing

Went over to Archi's 2 weeks ago and we had a play with ATC's. Archi seemed a bit nervous of inkiness but I tell you, you are a natural!!! We had a storming session- with Archi making at least 8 beautiful ATC's and I made an unheard of 6 (I usually make that many in a month if I'm lucky!!)
So thank you to Archi for a fabby day- twas the BEST!!!!
I'm going to HAVE to get some more Art Stamps when I get my pocket money- loving the Paper Artsy stamps!
Still obsessed by Trees!!! Stamper's Anonymous need a shopping visit too me thinks!!!

Dr Who!!!!

Ooooh it was exciting and terrible at the same time!
BOOOOoooooo to Yukky Davros!
I do hope that Donna still has that beetle on her back and that we're still in an alternate reality cos I don't want David Tennant to stop being the Doctor. But Mickey and Ma Tyler are back!!! Hooray!
Nervously awaiting the last episode- 60 odd minutes of nail biting on Saturday!
See a trailer here.

Scrapping London Style!!

Well I finally got round to playing with my London pictures from the trip Archi and I took to the Globe Theatre. You may guess from the double (er triple!) photos that I was rather taken with Southwark Bridge. Always been a bit of a grease monkey so I was very drawn to the early 20th Century Industrial style of the Bridge. Functional yet with a strong beauty to it. All those rivets!! Oh and on a girly note- pretty colours too!!

Supplies
7gypsies Notting Hill Paper ( a perfect match!)
7gypsies tissue (a blast from the past)
Prima Tape (love it!)
QuicKutz Madamoiselle font (a prize!)

I spent last Saturday in Stratford in Avon at the Scrapaganza event with some great pals of mine. I had a hoot with Angela, cutnpaste, SarahK, LynM, Annnijo, izzy, Privateuni, Pauline and Lily and her wonderful Scrapshed!

We did some fabbo classes some of the techniques I crammed onto this layout!
Although I didn't take the class Karen Burniston's interactive LO's looked awesome!
Donna Downey had us painting up a frenzy with BIG chipboard so THAT went onto the LO too!!
Melodee Langworthy Family Favourites class was just beautiful. She has such a way with minibooks- quick yet so stylish. I loved the way she inserted double backed photos into the mini book as page.
Also had another class which wasn't quite as revealing as I'd hoped but I did get to play with Pearly Powders so that made me a happy bunny! I also learnt that a true artiste needs Baby Wipes- ahhh well maybe one day I'll aspire!!

So the LO- I had several piccies of an architectural nature from our London trip that needed to go together but I didn't want to cram them all together and lose the focus on each one. I decided to pinch a leaf from Karen Burniston's LO's (her samples at Stratford were fantastic) and use a lift up flap with a montage of photies in a Donna Downey stylee- mixing my designers here!! I also embellished the flap with LARGE chipboard, painted, crackle glazed and then a touch of gold Paint Dabber added to the Crackle Paint. I had real fun with this- getting painty and messy is such a joy!

Dymo Tape
Chipboard Scroll

Little Boxes...update....

....I has been having FUN with these !!!
So I started with a plan- in my head at least- one technique per 3-4 ATC's ROTFL well that went out the window the second I started!! I suffer from Art Tsunami in that I want to do everything all at the same time! But at least with 21 ATCs to d I had plenty of canvas to go to town on!!
Since I started I have used:- Distress Inks, Lumiere Paints, Crackle paint, Shrink Plastic, Stamping, Stamping on Acetate, Resist method, Collage, Layering, Grungeboard and Acrylic Paints to name a few!!
I have completed 20 out of the 21 ATCs now so I will be finishing off the final card and posting them to the Hostess with the Mostess this weekend!!

A bit of Shakespeare!!

We went to London but not to visit the Queen! We went to the Globe to see A Midsummer Night's Dream. We had a good nose at St. Pancras Station on the way there

The Globe was amazing and really is the BEST way to see Shakespeare. The play was a fair romp especially Nick Bottom who was a riot!

New Wheels- stash on the move!!!

Farewell Dear Daisy :O(

After my lovely Berlingo Daisy had a slight accident which initially seemed cosmetic but then the insurance company wrote her off *mourns the Berlingo* I needed new wheels. After all I am a scrapper and child/beagle transporter and I need to get around!
I was devastated when Daisy was condemned :O( never had a car 'put down' before and I am a soppy coo when it comes to cars- cannot pass wreckers without a tear in the eye and a wish for vehicular resurrection.

Funds were sorted out earlier this week and so I began looking in earnest and straightaway spotted this very pretty Bingo and local too!! So after manly tyre kicking 'DH' decided car was sound and could withstand the rigours of our family and a deal was struck! WOO-HOO!!! This scrapper's gonna be mobile again 2morrow VROOM-VROOM!!!!
