We always joke that our Citroen C1 is like a bee- whenever we park it it seems to send out an invisible scent that attracts other C1s-and here's a the proof!!

Here's my project:

I created a 7x5" canvas representing the Story of America!

The challenge I set myself was to use stamped Bombshell images and NOT COLOUR them!!!! *gasps*

The second challenge I set myself (I was in an experimental frame of mind!) was to use clear shrink plastic for the first time:

I stamped Anchor Mermaid onto the shrink plastic and created a little hanging charm for my canvas!

Bombshell's Miss January Challenge

Here's my tag, I was channeling Tim Holtz for this one!

I clear embossed Mi Amor onto the manilla tag then rubbed various Distress Inks into the paper blending as I went. I spritzed with gold Perfect Pearl Mister for a bit of a glimmer!
I stamped the roses from the Dead Necessities set and inked three and stamped three onto text paper.
I stamped a butterfly from Butterfly Dreams and used a waterbrush and Distress Inks to colour it in.
The top banner is fromone of my most used Bombshell sets Love and Luck.

Bombshell Miss December's Challenge

Now I bet you’re all anticipating that this month’s challenge will have something to do with the Holidays. If so, you’d be Miss Staken, as it has NOTHING to do with the Holidays, whatsoever (that is unless YOU want it to). Want a hint? Here’s a little “word-association” glimpse into my creative psyche to guide y’all to our theme this month. This could be scary. Ready?
December – Christmas – Snow – Cold – Hot – Radiator – Steam – Punk (you with me?)…and that leads us to this month’s CHALLENGE…
....“Hot and Steamy” – a Steampunk challenge.

I LOVE steampunk so I was very excited about this challenge.
At first I did toy with turning the Ship from Homeward Bound into a flying steampunk vehicle but then decided to use Rose's Portrait instead !

I used clear shrink plastic to make the small cogs from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Die for Rose's hair and to decorate the card. My daughter thought Rose looked like the 'Eye patch lady' from the recent series of Doctor Who but I think Rose looks much kinder than her!

Crochet Time

It was my turn to post over on It's a Creative World this weekend:
Hi all!
You may remember my post earlier in the month about Quick Knits well I've continued to knit and have even taught myself to crochet to a pattern!

First of all here's my little Gnome I was just starting last time. He knitted up really fast and came out a treat (my Sister is after him!). He was from a free pattern HERE and the only changes I made were to add some stitches tom make a nose and ears and I knitted the beard in garter stitch.

I love tortoises and knitted this teeny Torty:

I then bought a lovely pattern online for a cute piggy who was knitted- love those hooge feet!!
If you search etsy.com there are hundreds of beautiful and varied patterns for you to knit and often less than $5

I then decided that it was about time I taught myself to crochet and follow a pattern as there were so MANY adorable amigurumi patterns free on the net!

I thought I'd look for a REALLY easy pattern and spotted this cute Happy Pill pattern on Ravelry.com
(you need to sign up to use the site but you don't get any annoying emails and it's a HUGE resource!)

I had looked at instructions on how to crachet but it hadn't clicked but luckily I found this awesome tutorial on YouTube AMIGURUMI TUTORIAL and I was off!

I learnt how to decipher a crochet pattern, to increase and decrease in single crochet *beams*

So my next project was to crochet a cookie which I made up myself (get me!), followed by a cupcake from free pattern HERE and a coffee cup from HERE

I've learnt to use Slip Stitch, crochet into the front or the back of the stitch and to use HDC- half, double crochet!

Anytime I've been stuck I've resorted to Googling for the answer or heading to YouTube for a video tutorial- so easy!

As well as crocheting I've discovered 6mm black safety eyes which really give the look of an amigurumi!

Spent a lovely afternoon in MK with hubby today!
We had a wander around Marks and Spencers which was LOVELY- so many pretty, pretty Christmas decorations and home enhancing items (homes mind you that don't have us lot and 2 dawgs in them!!!)
Later we popped into Costas for a berry smoothie each as we were hot, parched and a bit pooped

...I tell you that beastie took some slurping but it was delish!!

Lastly we acted like a pair of kids and had a go on the HOOGE roundabout in the shopping centre- it had lovely ginny horses that go up and down (makes photo taking tricky though!!)

So it's Friday (Hooray) and I'm off to do some more knitting, I want to wish you all a lovely weekend!!

Ms. November's Bombshell Challenge

This month's challenge comes from Celina:

"Hi everyone, Celina, Ms November here with my challenge for this month. On my blog I like to have Waste Not Want Not Wednesdays where I post a card I made out of scraps from my scrap drawer. We all have those pesky little scraps we can't bear to throw away, but they always seem to linger. So my challenge is to create a card using just the scraps you have on hand. It doesn't have to be perfect, in fact I love creating crazy looking cards with little bitty scraps. Bonus kudos if you even stamp on a scrap colored piece of paper instead of a white one!

I really look forward to seeing your creations and don't forget to check the Bombshell blog on November 16th to see what the DT has come up with!"

Like most crafters I have a HUGE folder full of scraps (oops!) so this challenge was perfect for me!!!

OK so here's where all my supplies came from:

Stamps: Ahoy Sailor and Homeward Bound ;
Papers: Background is some Tim Holtz Kraft resist I had left over;
The blue star paper is left over October Afternoon;
The Postcard (with the Ship stamped on) is an actual old postcard, aged with Distress Inks;
All the stamped images are stamped onto left over scraps;
The blue ribbon has been floating around my desk for months!
The paper lace was cut for another project weeks ago using Tim Holtz vintage lace die by Sizzix;
The muslin fabric was an off cut;
The Baker's Twine was actually the only thing that wasn't a left over!
Coloured using Spectrum Noir and Copics;
Spellbinder;
Distress Inks.

I LOVED this challenge - it was fun rooting through my scraps folder, I hope you 'll give it a try too!!

My first attempt at crocheting something other than a granny blanket (25 years ago!)
He's a bit lumpy but I did it!!! *grins*

Knitty Update!

The Traveling Gnome:

He's finished!!! He's really quick to knit up so I think he needs a friend or two!

I added a nose and ears and knitted his beard in garter stitch for some texture!

He's very cute and only 2.75 inches small!

Willow the Beagle took a liking to him and tried to steal him, luckily I rescued him!!

I also finished Taffy Tortoise who's a real cutie- I love tortoises, used to own one as a child!

He's only 2" high and 3" long, perfect pocket size!!

I've really enjoyed using the black safety eyes- only ever used felt or embroidery for eyes- it gives the toys a 'proper' amigurumi look I think!

Off to have a go at a little crochet and remind myself how to knit rounds!!!

Quick Knits

It's my turn over on It's a Creative World Blog:

Well the nights are drawing in now and for me that always seems to herald KNITTING!
I love to get out the knitting needles and some wool and find some cute, quick projects to whip up in an evening!
When I was first crafting my Mum used to collect the Soft Toy patterns from Woman's Own and I FOUND my favourite pattern in the folder:

We used to knit LOADS of these guys and the lil' stockings too for school and Church fetes! They use so little yarn and knit up in no time at all!! Now obviously this is a VINTAGE pattern now *giggles* but I did find an alternative.
Jean Greenhowe has her own website on on there she has some freebie patterns including little Stockings HERE!!
And here are just two of the MANY stockings I've already produced!! All five of us in our family has their own stocking for the tree because Santa likes to pop choccy coins in them!

So anyway I started to search to see what other cute little knitty patterns I could find online and I was delighted with the results!
Over on a GORGEOUS knitting shop called Twins Knits I found a whole host of freebies as well as her full but reasonably priced patterns which are for sale!

hee hee aren't they wonderful?! Their pattern is HERE

They have at least 13 free patterns at Mochimochi Land which are the sweetest little Amigarumi (Japanese) style characters.

Then I found my fave site with LOADS of free patterns for knitted cuties Knitted Toy Box.

I am currently knitting, well finishing knitting the Traveling Gnome as it takes SO little time to knit!
Here he is visiting Paris!! His pattern is HERE!
He's so cute and little at only about 2-3" tall!

This is what he looks like tonight:

As you can see he's VERY straightforward to knit in stocking stitch with some increase stitches!
These patterns are mostly from America so the knitting jargon is slightly different however all of the patterns explain what the abbreviations mean and anything you are unsire of can easily be Googled. There are lots of online sites that 'translate' US knitting terms to UK English!
So have a go at some Quick Knits if you have a bit of time on your hands!

And a BRILLIANT challenge from Alison for my FAVOURITE time of the year:

It's October! It's October! My very most favorite month of the year! Can you tell I'm excited??? So...what's this month's Bombshell Hump Day Hop Theme, this month's theme is...Halloween of course! But...it's with a twist. You must include skelletons or a skull in/on it somewhere. You can use any of the numerous Bombshell Stamps skelletons, or you can create your own. Just make sure you get your Bombshell Stamps in there somehwere! You may also create a Day of the Dead project for this hop. But I couldn't fit it all in the title! Like last month, I encourage you to make a decoration as opposed to a card, but this is not mandatory.

Isn't that a cool challenge?

It's time for the monthly challenge from our guest DT for October, Paula!!
Paula's challenge is in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month which is of course this month. She's challenging everyone to THINK PINK: to use the color PINK somewhere on your project. Your project can have a breast cancer theme, but it doesn’t have to. Just be sure to use PINK.

My card was just a little one as I wanted to use the Rose and Banner stamp from Rose's Portrait set.

Beagle warmers!!

My son 'The Blonde One' and 'DH' have discovered another use for their laptops.
Unbeknowst to the inventors of the Laptop they have a secondary use: as a Beagle Warmer!
Whenever 'DH' or 'TBO' sit down on the sofa with their laptops soon a Beagle will appear beside them and then they start to manoeuvre themselves so they are lying along side the cooling vent. They then have a blast of lovely warm air blowing across themselves and they are super comfy!

So tonight 'DH' is still working away though it's past 10pm, he does however have company:

Two very comfy and VERY pooped beagles!

I tell you , it's a hard life being a Beagle!!!

It seems appropriate that in the week that Apple's Steve Jobs left us a magical part of his world should become a new member of ours!
'DH' has a new iPhone for work and I just HAD to have a play!!!

Here's me and my boy in a 70's glow!!

These are just SOME of 'DHs' masterpieces of modelling skillage ever ready to defend us against the attack of the Cybermen (we like many genres!)

My guy, 'Save me Jebus' looking particularly glowy and all knowing! Which reminds me: when I was a kid I used to worry God could see me on the loo!!! LOL

please note Jesus' necklace adorning his lovely neck! That was a stocking filler from my Mum when I was 6 and I've loved it and kept it safe all these hundreds of years!!

I can see me and Instagram are going to be great chums -'DH' is well chuffed with it so it just comes down to me wrestling his phone away from him in the evenings and weekends!!!

As I said at the beginning of this post I was deeply saddened by the death of Steve Jobs.
My first foray into the world of computing , proper was at the keyboard of an Apple Macintosh.
We were in our 1st year at Hatfield Uni and we told that all essays and dissertations had to be word processed.
To be honest we were horrified and terrified in equal measure!
However we duly trundled down to the modest computer lab with named floppy disk in hand to be inducted into the world of WP.
We had a blast!!
It was so darn easy!!
My typing wasn't brilliantly fast but CUT and PASTE was a revelation, oh the joy of copying swathes of text and simply plonking it elsewhere in your essay!!!
I remember the day we were shown how to insert footnotes- I squealed wen I saw those cute little numbers in my essay and the tiny text at the foot of my work!!
Mac and mouse were my friends now and we scoffed at the unenlightened with their paper and pens!!

In 1992 I was lucky enough to have my own Apple at home- the Apple LCII with a Canon bubble jet printer- I was in heaven!!

Around 1994/5 a friend lent us the Apple Newton. It blew us away with it's handwriting recognition and it's pocket sized electronic organizer'ness. Ahead of it's time maybe and perhaps with problems but to us it was the future, a little bit of Star Trek in our hand!

In 2002 our lives were changing- new house, new town and three young children.
In 2002 'DH' bought me an iMac and I went online for the first time I was HOME!!!!

With Apple I have discovered my feet in the crafting world, made fast friends and had opportunities I never imagined. I can access information and people at any time in any part of the world and I do, believe me I do!!
The cry of 'Google it' is heard daily in our house!!

My music horizons have expanded enormously through iTunes and then later i had an iPod shuffle YAY!! Do you remember how HARD it was trying to get hold of a piece of music if it was out of the charts and out of fashion BEFORE iTunes came along-I do and I bless the accessibility of iTunes !!

So now here we are 21 years later and I'm zooming around t'internet on my third Apple computer and listening to music on a pink iPod nano (as well as watching Doctor Who episodes and Killers videos on it!). So to me anyone who quibbles that Steve Jobs didn't so this or didn't do that is just that QUIBBLING!
For me he brought the computer into my life, helped me get my BaHons degree, helped me start scrapbooking, helped me meet hundreds of friends online and help me sate my thirst for knowledge and music!
So from me and my family I thank you very much indeed Steve Jobs and hope that the spark you created with your imagination and drive in that once little company called Apple continues to grow and touches and enriches other lives as it has mine!

September Bombshell Blog Hop!!!

Many of our major holidays are just around the corner. I think we all know what my favorite holiday is (Halloweenie! )...but what's yours? My challenge to you is to make a Bombshell project for your favorite holiday. Bonus points if you make a decoration!!! I can't believe that it's the end of August already-where does the time go?!
I still owe you a tutorial on the splodgy backgrounds, I'm totally blaming our holiday to Dorset cos it chilled me out so much that time got away from me ;)

So this month's Blog Hop challenge from Alison is based on the movies, here's what Alison says:

It's time for a new Bombshell Hump Day Hop challenge! This month, the theme is "Put Me in the Movies." Take a movie, and/or movie poster, and use it to inspire your Bombshell Stamps project! Any of your stamp sets will work! And, you can make anything you want!

To get the inspiration flowing...think about using a hot rod set for Cars 2, Sugar Skulls for a horror flick, ship for a Pirate's of the Carribean movie, etc. And that's not even mentioning your Bombshell gals!

So I decided to play with my cool "Mi Amor" Bombshell stamps for Alison's challenge based on these film posters:

I stamped Mi Amor onto Kraft cardstock and embossed her with clear embossing powder.
I built up a few layers of copper embossing powder on some cardstock and then stamped the rose into the soft embossing powder. I cut out the roses and added them to the edges of the card.
The background to the card was made in the same way as the roses but using a text stamp instead.
The frame of the card is a Spellbinders Square Fleur de Lis die.

I hope you enjoy my interpretation of Alison's cool theme (there were so many other ideas buzzing around in my head for this one!) and I hope you play along!

....with the Bombshell July Blog Hop

Alison gave us a colour theme:

..which I will admit I struggled with- not that I didn't LOVE the colours but I am a crafter of habit and I tend to stick to a limited palette and didn't have most of the colours...so I cheated!

I used some Ranger Adirondack Colourwash sprays to get as close as I could and played with my new Butterfly Dreams stamps too:

Paper made with the spray and squidge method (I'll pop a Tutorial up this month as it's great fun to play with!) and the butterfly from my glitter tutorial HERE on the Bombshell Blog.

You can see I used some Perfect Pearls in with the color wash sprays to add some shine:

Handmade paper rose above with coloured seam binding (I'll pop up a tutorial for these this month)

Used my Banner Sayings stamp and my new Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Squares- which are beautiful!!

I have another card I made with my Butterfly Dreams stamps which I'll pop up tomorrow- quite different from this one- this is such a versatile set of stamps!

I can see clearly now......

....I have new glasses!!!

YAY I have new specs and I can see!!!
I hadn't realised how poor my close vision had become until I put these on this morning- I can see the keyboard clearly now!!
I knew I needed a new pair because I had been lifting my specs out of the way when I read or crafted but didn't realise HOW long sighted I'd become until I did the reading test with the optician last week!

So now I am the proud owner of a shiny new pair of Varifocal specs- so I can see Near, FAR and in the middle all sparkly clear!! Thanks to everyone at Specsavers in Bicester especially the very nice lady who let me do the glaucoma puff test just once in each eye 'cos I am a baby and hate it so much!!!
I just have to spend some time letting my brain get used to this pair then I can go order my free second pair, i fancy a nice burgundy or red pair I think!!! :)

A lil card for a special chap who's eighteen!!

Supplies:
Paper: Cosmo Cricket and Basic Grey
Embellishments: Seam Binding, Tissue Tape, Glass Glitter, Dymo Tape
Stamps: Stampotique Gobby Lin
Colouring: Distress Inks water colour brushes
Dies: Spellbinders Labels Seventeen & QuicKutz Finale Grande numbers

I stamped Gobby Lin on lined paper and used Distress Inks with a water colour brush to colour him in.
I cut him out using Nestabilites Labels 17:

I cut out '18' from the QuicKutz Finale Grande font and coated it with silver glass glitter.

I took a length of seam binding that was twice the width of the card and made a running stitch down the centre to gather it in.

I dampened the seam binding and squidged green Distress Stain on to it as well as some brown Distress Ink. I then crumpled it up and left it to dry.

I added the seam binding to the card with a little Dymo message.

And that's my card for a very special nephew,

Shiver Me' Timbers

Alison has chosen a cool Blog Hop theme to celebrate the summer, Shiver Me' Timbers!!! Here's what Alison says:
"Arrrrrrrrr!!!! In honor of the latest Pirates of the Carribean flick, and the start of Summer (cruises and such...work with me here, folks) I decided what better theme than pirates! More like the phrase "Shiver me timbers!" Now, I am thinking pirates...but what do YOU think of when you hear that phrase?"

Here is my take on Alison's theme! I paper-pieced the galleon from the Homeward Bound Bombshell stamp set with the lush Cosmo Cricket 'Wanted' papers.
I used the compass and serpent stamps in the background (Tim Holtz Distress Ink Frayed Burlap)
I used Aged Mahogany Distress Ink to colour the ribbon.

Bombshell June Sketch Challenge!

Can you believe it's June already- the year is whipping past but the daylight is lasting way longer, which is wonderful and June is my birthday month!!
Here is this month's sketch challenge from Kathi Rerek

Here's my take on the sketch using Sacred Heart Art, Banner Sayings and Lucky Bride:

I stamped the Banner Sayings blank banner and carefully positioned the Words 'Sacred' and 'Heart' from the Scared Heart Art set over the banner and stamped them place.

I used a cute little stamp from the Alter Skulls set

to create a border around the card:

and to create a background for the Bride:

I used some of the very vintage 'Timeless' collection from Kaisercraft from Chrissy at Merly Impressions

and sweet little roses from 3DJean.

When I was away scrapping for the weekend one of the MANY fun things is to be able to peruse other scrappers' stash! Gwyneth has lots of Papertrey Ink stamps and dies that we all drool over and I spotted this one die that I borrowed to cut some butterflies. I was worried it was a Papertrey Ink die and you can only buy these from the states which can be expensive but LUCKILY, after much googling and pestering Gwyneth I found out it was a Stampin' Up one YAY!!!
So my pal FrenchieJo is sorting me out with one and some of their gorgeous white cardstock which is dreamy to use with Copics!

I can't thank Dawnii enough for the artwork and for being so encouraging, especially through the last couple of painful hours!!

My Tattoo!!

So I turned 40 last June and my darling 'DH' booked me in with AWESOME Tattoo artist Dawnii Fantana.

Well finally after thinking and planning and dreaming about my BIG tattoo the moment is nearly here!!! Next Wednesday I am off to get inked!
To add to my excitement Dawnii sent me the sketch today...do you want a sneak peak.....

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

To say I'm excited is an understatement- I'm also REALLY nervous now cos it's suddenly HERE!!!!

Well back to reality for now, kitchen to tidy, dogs and kids to feed!!

Stitching Time again!

Last year I stamped my Bombshell Mermaid stamp onto fabric and coloured her in with Copic markers. I made a quilted surround from sea themed fabrics:

Well this time I wanted to use the same stamp but EMBROIDER the mermaid stamp this time!

I also wanted to include some fabric for the mermaid's tail and bikini top so I bonded some Bondaweb (to prevent fraying) onto the back of my chosen fabric and stamped the Mermaid's tail and top onto this fabric:

I then carefully cut it out the tail and bikini top from the fabric.

I stamped my Mermaid onto a piece of cream fabric using Staz-On ink and put the fabric into an embroidery hoop.

I took the fabric tail and bikini top I had cut out and used some clear glue to place it onto the mermaid:

I then used a combination of back stitch and satin stitch to outline and fill in the mermaid's image.

I also outlined the fabric tail and bikini top with back stitch.

Once the embroidery was complete I finished the mermaid by attaching her to a collaged and stitched fabric background to make a hanging!

I rubbed a little Rock Candy Stickles over the fabric tail and top to give the mermaid some sparkle!

Hope you enjoyed this project remember stamps make excellent subjects for embroidery!

I love Traditional Teddy Bears and I love anything miniature so when I spotted these gorgeous kits by Emily Farmer on Etsy I was so stoked!! I was even happier when my darling hubby bought me a kit for Christmas!!
The kits are gorgeous and include EVERYTHING you need except thread and filling- so you are ready to go straight out the bag!
I love the traditional styling of Emily's bears and her kits make up beautifully, the fabric is a non-fray type which makes the stitching up part much easier!
Emily is also available via email for tips and any questions you may have, which is great if you are a newbie!
The kits are small and can be fiddly but if you are a neat stitcher and have made some toys before you won't have any problems with these kits.

Here are my Teddies so far:

Scooter on the left with the trousers is 3.25 inches tall and his lil bear friend in front is a tiny 1.5 inches short! The larger white and peach bears are 3.25 inches in height!

Here's my latest bear based on Scooter but in a soft blue rayon fabric:

I've been making them as pressies for my family as they are so cute- you don't realise how small they are until you hold one in your hand!

I'm currently working on this cutie:

As you can see I'm building a little collection but at least they don't take up much room!

Here's a card I made from a Sketch by Anam Stubbington who launched her Sketches 4 Cards App for the iPhone- how cool is THAT idea- Inspiration on the Go?!

I used the multi masking and stamping technique that I used HERE but toned down the effect by using fewer stamps and a lighter colour (Walnut Distress Ink)

Scrapping with A Trip Down Memory Lane

My Inner Bombshell and Multi Masking Tutorial

Mary G has challenged the Bombshell team to come up with a Bombshell project that reveals their inner Bombshell!

As a Gemini I find I have two distinct sides to my personality and my crafting! Sometimes I'm neater and nicer and like to go with pretty, glittery and happy. Other times I'm inky, grungey, showing a dark sense of humour and loving skulls and tattoos!

So my Bombshell project is kinda my Gemini self!

I layered multiple Bombshell images by using masking.

First I stamped the Bombshell Bride onto my card with Memento ink.

I stamped her again onto some scrap paper and cut her out to make a mask. A little repositionable Hermafix on the back of the mask and placed it over my stamped image:

Next I lined up where I wanted my second stamped image and stamped her over the mask:

Then I had my two main Bombshells 'Lucky Bride and Butterfly Queen' next to each other:

I stamped Butterfly Queen onto scrap paper and cut her out so I could make a mask for my second stamped image, I could then start stamping over the two Bombshells without making a mess of them. Here are both Bombshells, masked with some of the next layer of stamping going on:

As I progressed I added more masks so that I could over stamp more of the card:

Not all the masks were stamped on scrap and cut out- for smaller images, sometimes all I needed to use were strips of paper to protect an image below:

Once all the stamping was done and the masking removed the card looked like:

The final job was to colour the images in and add some extra images with 3d foam to make the pop off the card

I really enjoy this technique as you get a really dense layered look but you can still focus on the main subjects of the card. It's quite involved but i find it quite relaxing and my 'DH' commented on how quiet the colouring in kept me!!

and if you leave the images uncoloured apart from sweeping with Distress inks it forms a cool background:

Hiya All I'm back!!!
Picked up our new 'pooter today and we are cooking on GAS!!
It's amazing how FAST this new model is- LOVE it!!!
LOVE Apple iMac!!!

So on January 4th we had a solar eclipse and I thought I'd have a go at capturing it on camera (not really knowing what I was doing!!)
Well today was the first chance I'd had to see the piccies and I was REALLY pleased at the results!
You can actually see the crescent!!

It was a beautiful sunrise and I loved my photos but to capture the eclipse itself was really special!

Currently I am embroidering and working on 'The Blonde One's' quilt- seems that New Year makes me wanna stitch!!

My beloved iMac has gone caput and I am VERY limited in my internet time :( oh i miss you all!
I have sent iMac off to the docs but with the Chrissy hols and New Years break it will be a while before hear what I fear will be BAD news. Fingers crossed that I will be back with y'all by mid January.
I'm so gutted- all my photies are on the 'pooter and my misuc *sigh* I 'spose this is the DOWN side of being all technological!
I have been busy crafting- I have some Bombshell cards ready to photograph and share and a gorgeous teeny bear that I made from a ki I received from 'DH' for Christmas. See Emilyfarmer.com if you want to see the cutest lil bears EVER!!
Today I started making a quilt for eldest son 'The Blonde One' using the drunk log cabin style of block- taking it easy as it's new!! Lovingthe fabrics-all tattoo and skull inspired mostly by Alexander Henry- awesome!

Well I used a lil Sizzix snowman and I didn't have a snowflake embossing folder so I embossed snowflakes onto a piece of Vellum for a snowy look.

This one was a quickie! Music paper with lots of Distress inks and a rosette flower with a gold chenille pipe cleaner for tinsel. I used a QuicKutz die for the letters and a Sizzix star all glittered in gold. This was the first time I coloured some of Tim's ribbon with Distress ink and I loved the effect!

I have a fab lady here in England, 3dJean who is dead arty and luckily runs her own lil online shop.
One day she advertised that she had some new stamps in stock 'Bombshells'.
Well I've never been a cutesy stamps girl- no bunnies in bonnets for me, so when I saw the Bombshells i was in LOVE!!!
This was December 2008 and I asked my lovely 'DH' if he could possible get me a set for Chrissy that year.
That was how I came to own Retro Cowgirls

I love my Bombshell Stamps and was so excited to be chosen as a Guest DT member in 2009 and then a full time member later that year!

I work for a gorgeous boss who loves tattoo art and caters to those of us who want something MORE than cute for our cards and crafts!
I am part of a team with the most talented bunch of wenches in the crafting hemisphere- I tell you they scare me into trying harder and harder!!!

My card is a little kitsch, she's an old fashioned cowgirl working down on the farm in her plaid yet still looking drop-dead gorgeous and ready to kick a lil butt with those sexy boots!!!

Over on the Bombshell Blog Ms November, Mary Harmon challenged us with her Black Friday theme!
I love how many different takes there were on Mary's theme!

I went for a classic Black and White movie look using Rose's Portrait

I used the sentiment stamp from the Rose's Portrait set to create the background for Rose. The black cardstock was embossed with a Cuttlebug Folder and I used October Afternoon paper (dogtooth check) for the final layer.

The kids have become Cuttlebug addicts- I tell you I could have them do die cutting for 90minutes and they wouldn't complain!!

Recording the work!

So as you know I've had a quilting Bee in my bonnet this year - excuse the quilting humour there, anyway...I decided to record the quilts in my scrapbooking as a reminder of the work, fun and reception they have had!

This is my daughter, her quilt and as ever a Beagle!!! Whenever a quilt appears, magically so does one of the Beagles!

Paper is the gorgeous Webster's Pages with some Tim Holtz Sizzix dies and a bit o' glitter!

The Layout for my Son's quilt was naturally less fluffy mostly due to the face he pulls in the photo!

Papers are Prima, Webster's Pages and Cosmo Cricket tags with a Bombshell Stamp Skull!

ALMOST Halloween Hump Day Blog HOP!!!!

Are you getting ready for the the Bombshell Halloween Blog Hop 2010?!
I LOVE Halloween, one of my fave holidays as it's a chance to dress up and be silly!!
Here we have a Halloween themed meal and decorate the room and ourselves and watch a Halloween episode or two of the Simpsons!!

But I'm really Looking forward to Blog hopping and having you join us on October 27th 2010!

So to get you in the mood for Halloween here's a Halloween/Day of the Dead lamp I made for Kas's Just Halloween Challenge

How to:
I stamped Bombshell stamps onto three pieces of A5 Vellum and coloured it lightly with Copic pens.

I took 3 pieces of black cardstock and cut a section from the section from the centre of each to frame my stamped vellum.

I used a cobweb punch to punch along the top and bottom of each of the three cardstock sections.

I stuck the three sections together to form a triangle and added a triangular base made from black cardstock.

I decorated the lamp with glitter and flowers and used a BATTERY powered tealight to light the lamp.

Halloween FUN!

This is my first play with one of the fun images from Tiddly Inks Digital stamps.

I made the purple background paper myself by mixing Dusty Concorde Re-inker, water and eyeshadow powder ( I didn't have any Perfect Pearls!!) mixed in a spray bottle a la Tim Holtz stylee!!
It was messy and FUN PLUS I ended up with fab glimmery purple paper!
